  • Selling to collectors directly saves you the time, expense, and hassle of doing art shows. When you're referred to collectors they are 82% more likely to buy your art and spend more money. *

*Note. Representatives will not typically allow you to contact your collectors, even though this common practice is unethical and even illegal in many jurisdictions.

When you find your niche you can stop suffering on-going humiliating rejection.

  • You'll face far less rejection when you focus on people who are 82% more likely to buy your art and spend more money.
  • You can even turn rejections into art sales with solid luxury marketing and sales strategies.
  • You won't be looking for approval or needing validation once you know your niche.

When you stop using confidence crushing strategies you have more time to create.

  • You can avoid time-consuming, exhausting, and expensive mistakes with a proven process.
  • You can side-step the middleman and focus on the fastest path to cash.
  • You can stop procrastinating and second guessing yourself with our expert guidance.

  • Stop competing with snobby jealous artists in juried shows and art contests. The only ones who win are self-appointed judges and organizers.

  • Not having expert guidance costs you a significant amount of money, time, frustration, and self-confidence year after year.

Most people believe that successful fine artists are represented by  prestigious* art galleries but this is rarely the case.

* Prestigious comes to us from the Latin word praestigiosis, meaning "full of tricks" or "deceitful."

Are you one of the few fine artists selling their art? Congratulations!

Selling your art provides validation, inspiration and confidence which increases the quality of your work.

Do you have a plan to sell more of your art

or are you only hoping that your art will sell?

Are there times when you've felt like giving up?

When a true artist abandons their art a part of their soul dies.

If hope is your marketing plan, WARNING.

  • The IRS, or your taxing authority, could deem your art a hobby if you're not making a profit from the sale of your art within a specific time frame.*

  • You can't take tax deductions on art costs and expenses for hobbies.

  • Without tax deductions, it will be impossible to make a sustainable living from your art.

* Please consult with your tax advisor.

4 Reasons Why You’ll Struggle To Sell Your Art

Reason #1

You think that you need to sell yourself.

You're not for sale just because your art is for sale.

If you believe that you must sell yourself, you'll feel conflicted when you try to sell your art, and your approach will be awkward and ineffective.

Reason #2

You're discounting or donating your fine art.

When you discount or donate your art you immediately devalue it and damage your reputation because your prices lack integrity.

If you're not confident in the price of your art you'll tend to hide your prices, discount and donate your art, and you shouldn't expect to be paid.

Reason #3

You're not using luxury marketing.

The affluent, not mainstream consumers, purchase fine art.

You are not your customer. Conventional sales and marketing strategies will fail.

Luxury marketing and sale strategies are required to sell fine art and you must know your niche.

Reason #4

You are acting on inexperienced advice.

One of the most expensive and time-consuming mistakes is acting upon advice from people who have not successfully sold their fine art or even made art.

When this lousy advice doesn't work, you can become so discouraged and skeptical that you can't even recognize sound advice.

What does the scarcity and permission-based art establishment not want you to know?

People who care about art care about the artist, not the middleman.

Course 01

Accomplishing

Problem
When people reject your art, it feels personal. Rejection feeds your inner critic, kills your confidence and fogs your focus, leading to poor productivity.

Many fine artists feel overwhelmed trying to balance their time and energy while making art and making money.

Consequence
80% of your psychology and 20% of your strategy reflects your current success.

Objective
If you are the average graduate you'll gain a three-fold increase in your level of focus and confidence. We include four-minute daily processes developed and clinically tested by expert Performance Psychologist George Pratt, Ph.D.

Course 02

Visioning

Problem
Your job as an artist is to inspire. Yet most fine artists do not know their purpose.

So fine artists awkwardly struggle to justify their contribution, the value of their art, and their role as an artist.

Consequence
Self-involved, cringe-worthy artists' statements reflect this common state of confusion and insecurity.

Objective
You'll learn your Why. You'll develop a deep knowledge of your purpose and mission within a 28 days process.

Course 03

Valuing

Problem
If you're like most artists you do not understand your niche or how a niche applies to selling your art. Knowing your niche means that you know:

  • who wants to buy your art
  • why they want it
  • where and how to find more people like them

Consequence
If you don't know your niche you'll subject yourself to needless forms of rejection and expense. You can pay hefty sums to enter art contests or juried shows in an ineffective attempt to gain validation. Self-appointed judges manipulate artists by selling them a slim chance of so-called prestige*. Artists inevitably lose the competition and their confidence. Predatory art contest organizers, including art museums, are accountable to no one.

Objective
Using Ann Rea's 4-Part Code, you'll learn how famous artists defined their niche and see how you can too.

* Prestigious comes to us from the Latin word praestigiosis, meaning "full of tricks" or "deceitful."

Course 04

Dealing

Problem
A plan to sell art without a plan is a plan to sell no art. Most artists do not have a written plan to sell their art. If they do, it resembles an inadequate to-do list.

Consequence
Without a written plan to sell art, it's impossible to examine your thinking and focus. Every business must outline a plan to achieve success and measure it. What we measure improves.

  • Micro-businesses that maintain a written plan grow 30% faster than those that don't.
  • When art sales goals are defined correctly, they are 42 % more likely to be achieved.

Objective
You'll define your specific art sales goal in a simple, clear, and concise one-page plan to achieve it.

Course 05

Targeting

Problem
The affluent buy art so you must posses a solid understanding of luxury marketing. Conventional marketing and sales strategies will not serve you.

Consequence
Your marketing is the bigger frame around your art and you as an artist. Awkward marketing leads to:

  • embarrassing attempts to sell your art
  • needless rejection from unqualified prospects at best
  • countless lost art sales at worst

Objective
You'll learn to focus on one proven luxury marketing process to find collectors. These prospects are 82% more likely to buy your art and spend more money.

Course 06

Selling

Problem
Understanding your product is essential to selling it. As an artist your product is emotion. Attempts to sell your art as goods or services will fail. Try to "sell yourself" and you'll embarrass yourself.

Consequence
If you believe that you must sell yourself you'll feel conflicted.

This common conflict has produced the notion of fine artists "prostituting themselves."

Conflicted fine artists retreat from selling art or they become aggressive, pushy, and salesy.

Objective
You'll learn how to listen and guide prospects through seven stages of authentic and inspiring conversations in a way that works well for introverts.

Course 07

Copyrighting

Problem
Your copyright could be your most valuable financial asset.

You must understand what copyright means to you and how to protect it. Without understanding copyright, you can grant the market "implied permission." If you do not enforce your copyright, you can't defend it or collect damages.

Consequence
If you aren't protecting your copyright then you are jeopardizing your economic success, brand, and reputation.

Objective
You'll determine copyright protections available to them inside their legal jurisdictions. Then you'll take measures to communicate and defend your copyright.

Course 08

Profiting

Problem
If you aren't pricing your art for a fair profit you are undermining your chances of any success.

Note that representatives will commonly discount your art even though their job is to represent you. That's because they have no financial investment in your consigned inventory so they have nothing to lose.

Consequence
Discounting or donating your art places you at a disadvantage in the marketplace.
When you discount your art or give it away for free you:

  • immediately devalue your art
  • prove that your prices have no integrity
  • damage your reputation
  • kill your confidence

Warning: If you're not generating a profit from the sale of your art, the IRS or your taxing authority could deem your art a hobby. You can't take business income tax deductions for a hobby. You can not make a full-time or part-time living without tax deductions.

Objective
You'll price your art for a fair profit by calculating your:

  • art costs
  • expense
  • labor

Consult with your tax advisor.

Course 09

Prototyping

Problem

Conventional education requires you to memorize and regurgitate correct answers. You'll receive a diploma or certificate in exchange, which is useless in business.

Consequence
Even if you have an academic mastery of a subject this will not ensure that you'll be able to produce results in business.

Objective
During the final Prototype Project, you’ll learn why collectors purchased your art and why others didn’t so that you can focus on your niche.

You'll test and refine your comprehension by selling your art to cover your tuition, at a minimum. *
