https://youtu.be/QsYvSG_-mSI What did you do this past Friday at 1 AM? I walked on hot coals measuring over 1200°. I didn’t just walk on one hot coal; I stepped along a 15-foot long bed of burning coals. And I LOVED it! I attended Tony Robbins’ seminar, “Unleash Your Power.” There were over 10,500 people there from 52 countries. Just before our brave souls stepped out into the parking lot to face the flames, Pitbull surprised us to do a few numbers including one of my favorites, “Fireball.” Why was Pitbull doing a surprise performance at a Tony Robbins event? Because Pitbull attributes his incredible success in the music industry to what he learned from Tony Robbins. He grew up in very impoverished and violent neighborhood in Miami, Florida. Pitbull’s entrepreneurial endeavors began as a drug dealer. But as he says in his lyrics, he

took a negative and turned into a positive.

When he was a youngster he would ride in his mother’s old Pinto while she played a set of  Tony Robbins old cassette tapes. Look at him now. Pitbull is one of the most focused and savviest musicians in the industry. He’s created a unique sound while leveraging the fame of his co-performers. So why did I walk on a bed of hot burning coals? To prove to myself how incredibly powerful my mind is. Why am I sharing this with you? Because your mind is just as powerful. What’s the basic recipe for becoming a successful artist? It’s 80% psychology and 20% strategy. I can give you strategy. In fact, I give it away for free. But if you can’t master your psychology there’s no strategy that I can teach you that will help you succeed as an artist. The people who you are surrounding yourself with are shaping your mindset. That is why I built a supportive, live, interactive community within The MAKING Art Making MONEY Semester, who I’m very proud of. I’m not an affiliate of Tony Robbins International nor am I suggesting that you walk on coals. Unless you want to 😉 I’m sharing this with you because you need to know that if you want to be a successful artist, you must master your mind and your strategy.
