Ann Rea: (00:01)
Hello everyone. This is Anne Rea coming to you from San Francisco, California. I am a fine artist. I’m also a mentor to about 23 different types of fine artists from 21 countries and counting. And a lot of artists will ask me a question, which is legit question, which is, “Why aren’t you just painting all the time and just dedicating yourself? Why are you even doing this? Why are you helping other artists if you’re so good?” Or I’ll hear, “Those who can do, those who can’t teach.” Okay. Whatever. All right. Let me explain to you why. I think the best explanation that I can offer you for why I feel it’s my privilege and my role to help other fine artists take their power back from the scarcity and permission-based art establishment is really communicated very clearly in an email that I received from an artist from Australia who went through my program some years back.

And I’m just gonna– I’m not going to share her name. I want to respect her confidentiality, but I am going to read part of the email to you. And I think it will explain where my motivations are coming from, where my mission is coming from. All right. So she wrote me that–she said, “Hello.” You know, she responded to an email that I sent and she said, “This is Gold. Thank you so much. I did the Making Art Making Money program some time ago, 2018-2019, and it was profound. I really did find my niche. Trouble is that all the efforting for so many years prior, I believe greatly contributed to my ill health. I got the diagnosis last week of stage four cancer, and I’ve had quite a journey in front of me but you know what?

Ann Rea: (02:09)
This really tough work that you had us go through, well, I’m not so scared because of that. And if I don’t have much time left, I know I’m seriously ill, I’m glad to say that you helped me reconnect with my purpose as an artist and have the depth of fulfillment in my work these last few years. It’s been so good. Bless you, and thank you, Ann.” That is why I believe it is my mission to help at least 10,000 fine artists like you take your power back from the scarcity and permission-based art establishment, and teach you how you can sell more of your art, make more money, and do it with more ease and dignity than you’ve been told. And the reason why, you know, that–I mean that conveys everything. That email conveys really all my motivation behind this mission. And yes, you know, I occasionally sell art.

Ann Rea: (03:18)
I do commissions, and it’s lovely. And I can transform someone’s living room, and really inspire them every time they look. So, I’ve got a choice. I can focus the majority of my limited time and energy and effort on transforming someone’s living room, or transforming someone’s life. And right now, I’m really focused on the latter. There’s nothing more inspiring to me than to watch my fellow fine artists learn that they have the power of choice, and that they don’t need anyone’s permission to sell their art. So hopefully that explains why I’m doing what I’m doing, and where my motivation comes from, where my inspiration is currently coming from. And if you’d like to learn more, I want to invite you to a brand new live five-day challenge that’s happening starting on Tuesday, November 2nd. There’s a link. You can register. It’s free.

Ann Rea: (04:21)
It’s new. It’s live. It’s five days. It’s going to happen from noon Pacific Standard Time to 12:30 for five days, Tuesday through Saturday. And then, if you can’t make it don’t worry about it. We’re going to make the replays available to you for a limited time. And we’re going to give you some very specific action items, very specific homework. It’s going to take you less than 10 minutes a day for five days. If you do the work, you’ll get results. And what I would recommend is think of one or two other artists who are just like you and invite them to the challenge, because it’s more fun when you have someone, you know, you kind of hold each other accountable, and you encourage each other, and you can share what you’ve learned over the five days. So I hope to see you there. And I hope this gives you a clearer perspective on why I do what I do, and, what I’m trying to accomplish with Making Art Making Money program.
